Lake Scene with Moose, Albert Bierstadt

Moose poem

A curious creature is the Moose
Its bulbous nose, its dewlaps loose
Its gangly legs, its antlered crown
Its furry tufts of hair so brown
It roams the Northland, wild and free
It browses on the willow tree
Its Mooselets gambol merrily
And if upon some wintry dawn
A Moose is looming on your lawn
Gaze upon it from your room
But don't provoke it. Let it loom.
